All of CCF's faux and custom finish services are under the direction of James Mulligan, Director of Faux and Custom Finishing. He has a comprehensive knowledge of this specialized industry with an extensive background covering virtually all aspects of the Faux trade. Aged or Weathered Finish

This service consists of "antiquing" with unique paint techniques to add an aged appearance to almost any object or decoration.

Trompe L'oeil

Actually means "to fool the eye" in French. It is a centuries-old practice still very much alive today that takes a flat surface and adds dimension to it, realistically or stylized.

Imitation Surfaces

Our services include wood graining & marbleizing, including the aging or marbleizing of statuary, fountains, etc..

Children's Rooms and Fantasy Images

Our services include cartoon characters, original whimsical designs (including "sky" ceilings, clouds)

Gold or Silver Leaf

We can apply metallic flakes applied to an object or surface to give it a lustrous metal appearance.

Phases of a Decorative or Faux Finish Project

  • A consultation between the client and artisan occurs to determine the goals of the project, colors to be used, budgetary issues, etc.
  • An estimate is given to client.
  • Once the estimate is approved, a sample is provided to client.
  • Once the sample is approved, the project begins with all necessary prep work, including a basecoat.
  • The project completed by artisan.
